About Us

Churchouse Conservation and Restoration was formed in 2005 by Nigel Churchouse;  a master cabinet maker and lecturer in furniture making, conservation and restoration. With over two decades experience in bespoke cabinet making and restoration, Nigel Churchouse graduated with a Masters Degree [MA] distinction in Conservation and Restoration of Fine Furniture from Buckingham & Chilterns University, UK.

Churchouse Conservation and Restoration specialise in furniture conservation and restoration, also providing conservation and restoration courses and educational workshops.

Our workshop is located in the old market town of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, West Wales.

We are passionate about antique furniture; placing emphasis on the careful and dedicated conservation and restoration of the fine items and associated decoration.

In order to keep the item true to its original form, only essential works are carried out; ensuring the historical and/or financial value of the item is maintained.

In addition to our restoration and conservation service, we also offer a full range of decorative veneering, traditional upholstery & gilding work. Traditional techniques and materials are used within the conservation & restoration process. However, new techniques and materials which are widely used by museums are utilised when fragile items require stabilising and consolidating.
